That's new at sunzinet:

„Simply usable“: sunzinet assumes expert’s role for Usability within a research project of the Fraunhofer Institute

As part of an initiative called “Simply intuitive – usability for the middle class” sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, sunzinet and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT) develop a procedure model within the scope of the research project “Simply usable” to establish usability measures for the software development process of companies.

Support of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) through a free procedure model

With the help of the initiative “Simply intuitive – usability for the middle class” the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, that suffer a competitive disadvantage because of missing quality management tools, ought to be strengthened. The proposal’s duration will take presumably 3 years. The goal is to develop a procedure model to establish usability measures for the software development process of SME.

Special benefit: Chance to certify according to ISO 9241-210

One important incentive for the use of the procedure model is its recognition as a basis of the certification according to ISO 9241-210 by DAkkS (German Accreditation Body). At the hands of DAkks, SME gets the real chance to be certified to ISO standard. Besides a usability training concept, a checklist for software using SME will be developed. This list allows a choice of operational application software according to usability principles – even without technical know-how.

The Internet agency sunzinet as expert for usability

The specific task of sunzinet – as an expert for usability – and of our project partners is to optimize and to prove the research results specially coded for Internet agencies. “In the context of our project, we devote ourselves to the subject of usability for years. This enables us to adapt the tools to the needs of an Internet agency” (Alex Gruhler, chairman of sunzinet AG).
