Esche Schümann Commichau (ESCHE), a prestigious law firm with over 200 years of history, faced a critical disconnect between its reputation for multidisciplinary consulting services and its outdated digital presence. Their existing website did not fully support the business model, which presented potential challenges for brand perception and further growth. 

The core challenges included: 

  • Limited expert visibility: The website lacked an effective system for presenting the large number of experts, which made it difficult for recommended clients to quickly find the right contact person for their specific needs. 
  • Inconvenient user experience: The digital interface felt dated and technical, which risked undermining the firm's perception as a contemporary and sophisticated advisor.
  • Technical constraints: Technical and structural issues limited the site's search engine performance, preventing their valuable insights and publications from reaching a wider audience.
  • Misaligned lead generation: Existing contact points were not optimized to attract the larger, qualified mandates that align with the firm's specialized services. 

The project was initiated to transform their digital presence from a static brochure into a dynamic asset that actively supports their reputation and strategic goals.

The goal

A website that informs & performs

SUNZINET was tasked with re-engineering ESCHE's website into a powerful, client-centric platform. Our mission was to move beyond a simple visual refresh and deliver a sophisticated digital engine that would actively drive their business objectives. 

Our key goals were to: 

  • Redesign and implement a modern, accessible web design. 
  • Optimize navigation, user guidance, and mobile experience. 
  • Increase organic visibility of their expert insights and publications. 
  • Reinforce the brand as a contemporary leader and support talent acquisition. 

Strategy & implementation

Our strategy was built on a dual foundation: deep collaboration with the ESCHE team to understand their unique needs, and the implementation of a modern, scalable technical framework.

    We began with an on-site kick-off workshop to immerse ourselves in their brand and challenges. This was followed by conceptual design workshops, ensuring their marketing team was a co-pilot in shaping the new user experience from the very start.

    We supplemented the originally developed design concept with a clear, minimalist user interface and a subtle colour palette that reflects ESCHE's professionalism. Key to this was placing the expert lawyer directory with intuitive filters on the homepage, turning it into the primary tool for client connection.

    While the client remained on TYPO3 12, we implemented a modern Tailwind CSS framework. This allowed us to create a bespoke design while ensuring the site remains lean, maintainable, and easy to extend in the future.

    We executed a precise migration of their blog from a subdomain, implementing comprehensive URL redirects to preserve search rankings. We also established a clear information architecture to eliminate duplicate content and improve indexation, giving their high-quality content the visibility it deserved.

    We provided comprehensive SEO and content guidelines as well as direct consulting services. This enabled ESCHE's marketing team to continue to confidently manage and optimise the website content even after launch, thus ensuring its long-term success.

The data from Google Search Console confirms the success: 

  • Surge in Organic Clicks: The total number of clicks from search results increased by 70% month-over-month, demonstrating a significant boost in qualified traffic. 
  • Explosive Growth in Visibility: Impressions in search results more than doubled - a 134% increase - proving the site's content and structure are now being effectively discovered by its target audience.
