With us, you will take on a central role in the company – with room to shape your work, direct access to management, and close collaboration with our Administration & Financial Services team, the Controlling team, and our external tax advisor. This role exists only once in the company, which means the area of responsibility is clearly defined. The job is a remote position, however in first half year some onboarding sessions would take place in Cologne (around 4 weeks in total).
Your qualifications
- Completed commercial training with further qualification as a Certified Balance Sheet Accountant or a comparable qualification,
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in a medium-sized company environment,
- Solid knowledge of HGB as well as tax and reporting requirements,
- Experience in consolidation and intercompany accounting is an advantage,
- Confident handling of common accounting systems (we use Datev and Business Central),
- Structured, independent, and precise working style,
- High reliability, sense of responsibility, and discretion,
- Strong communication skills when interacting with management and external partners.
- Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB,
- Timely coding and posting of ongoing business transactions,
- Independent accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting,
- Handling the entire payment process,
- Liquidity management for the companies,
- Dunning and collections,
- Regulatory reporting (e.g., VAT returns, EC sales lists, Z4 reports, Bundesbank reporting),
- Preparation of analyses and reports on balance sheet items and tax-related topics,
- Consolidation of parent company, subsidiaries, and branch office accounting,
- Reconciliation and provision of accounting documents for the Austrian branch (tax advisor),
- Advising management on risks and accounting-related issues,
- Acting as a point of contact for tax advisors, auditors, tax authorities, and other public institutions.
